Effective June 12, Metronet customers’ existing internet speeds became symmetrical! The same fast speed used to download data is now also available for uploading as well. Metronet is the only provider offering symmetrical speeds to residential customers, making this one more advantage to being part of our 100% fiber-optic network. Even better, this speed enhancement was automatically applied at absolutely no cost!

Here’s an example of the benefits of symmetrical speeds: If a customer currently has our 200/75(download/upload)Mbps speeds, the speeds have been upgraded to 200/200Mbps automatically. In the past, asymmetrical speeds might have resulted in lag time when uploading items such as large data files, high-resolution photos, and videos – not anymore! By increasing the upload speeds, this lag time virtually disappears. So, now while downloading files, streaming, shopping, and gaming, customers can simultaneously upload larger data, such as pictures, videos, or music, without losing bandwidth, for an improved overall internet experience.

Metronet customers can now feel free to upload those high-resolution photos, share travel videos with friends and family, and send PowerPoint presentations for work, all while streaming their favorite movie.
