HOW TO USE MY TIVO VOICE SEARCH

  1. While viewing any TiVo menu or watching TV, press and release the Google Assistant button on the remote.
  2. Speak naturally into the remote. Say a title, actor, or keyword and look for results to be displayed on top of the TiVo menus.

Here are some things you can do with TiVo voice:

  • Search or browse by title, actor, or keyword: Example: “Find Modern Family,” or “Show me some action movies.”

HINT: Add on to your initial command to get more specific. For example, after the command, “Show me some action movies with Bruce Willis.”

  • Fast forward or rewind a certain number of minutes: Example: “Fast forward three minutes.”
  • Jump to a particular point in a show: Example: “Jump to 10 minutes,” will jump to 10 minutes from the beginning of the recording.
  • Watch a show that’s airing on live TV: Example: “Watch The Big Bang Theory on now.”
  • Watch a particular episode: Example: “Watch Season 1, episode 3 of Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix.”
  • Watch a show or movie on a specific provider: Example: “Watch Coco on Netflix."
  • Fast forward or rewind a certain number of minutes: Example: “Fast forward three minutes.”
  • Launch an app: Example: “Launch Netflix.”
  • Change channels: Example: ”Go to NBC.”
  • Turn closed captions on or off: Example: “Turn on/off closed captions.”
  • Go to a TiVo menu screen: Example: “Take me home” or “Show me the Guide.”

The voice feature only works with the TiVo menus. It will not work within Apps such as Netflix, YouTube, etc. However, if you use it to search for titles/movies/actors/genre in the TiVo menu, once it finds the content you are looking for it will show you all the viewing options and should be one-click to launch on TV, Create a OnePass, or play Netflix, etc.
